The sculpture’s nose, cheeks, and lips are the only clearly defined facial features, partially concealed by a metal lock that can be opened or closed, symbolizing restriction, censorship, and the suppression of identity and expression. The figure’s body is constructed as a cage-like framework, emphasizing vulnerability and imprisonment. Within this hollow structure, a lantern sits on a metal stand, intentionally left unlit to evoke a sense of emptiness, lost hope, or a suppressed inner light.
